Position: Program Assistant, Bilingual
15-20 hours per week
Reports to: Program Manager/Operations Manager

Aurora Interfaith Community Services (AICS) is a non-profit organization whose aim is to express Christian concern for our community by providing substantive emergency assistance to the residents of Aurora. AICS does not charge a fee for any goods or services. AICS provides wrap around services to Aurora residents in need to nurture each person as a whole. Services include pantry food pantry visits, the Mobile Food Pantry distribution, a clothing program, utility bill assistance and our new Envision Program.
Responsibilities
- Assist with client intake over the phone M, T, W, and Th. The position sets appointments for all services and has knowledge of procedures for providing food, clothing, utilities
- Works closely with the Program Manager performing community navigation responsibilities to include utilizing the resource database; connecting clients with additional resources; perform follow up client calls to ensure needs are being met.
- Assists with Mobile Food Pantry duties to include but not limited to packing food kits, managing volunteers to pack food kits and loading the box truck.
- Assist with Mobile Food Pantry setup to include operating pallet jack and/or driving box truck to mobile event. Unloading truck, coordinating volunteer duties or other duties as assigned.
- When the client intake greeter is away, step in to perform the duties of greeting clients; collecting necessary information and taking food orders to them.
- Assist with data entry, filing and other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Team player a must
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- REQUIRED to excel at Customer Service
- Data system and phone system proficiency
- Frequently moves heavy boxes and canned goods to weigh 50 lbs or more
- Repeated climbing and lifting out of the box truck.
- Pushing and pulling of pallets and loading and unloading of food.
