Position: Program Assistant

15-20 hours per week

Reports to: Executive Director/Operations Manager

Company Summary

Aurora Interfaith Community Services (AICS) is a non-profit organization whose aim is to express Christian concern for our community by providing substantive emergency assistance to the residents of Aurora.  AICS does not charge a fee for any goods or services.   AICS provides wrap around services to Aurora residents in need to nurture each person as a whole.  Services include pantry food pantry visits, the Mobile Food Pantry distribution, a clothing program, utility bill assistance and our new Envision Program. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with mobile food pantry prep, day of set-up and breakdown.
  • Drive box truck to and from mobile food pantry and food pickup locations.
  • Assist participants in finding resources to better their life situations through our Community Navigation program.
  • Manages volunteer mobile food pantry prep tasks.
  • Helps with social media and marketing tasks.
  • Assist participants when volunteers are unavailable at the brick and mortar pantry
  • Operate electric pallet lift to load and unload food from truck and in warehouse areas (certification and training provided).
  • Additional tasks and duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Repeated lifting of donated food weighing 80 pounds or more.
  • Repeated climbing up, into and out of box trucks.
  • Repeated pushing, pulling and loading & unloading of large pallets of food
  • Team player a must
  • Required to excel at Customer Service 
  • Proficient at computer programs such as Word and Google Suite a plus but not required.
  • Bilingual conversational or more English/Spanish a plus but not required. 

Benefits

Pay starts at $15/hour. AICS offers a competitive PTO plan that includes 20 paid holidays in addition to regular PTO.
